Towards a World Class University, PGMI UIN Malang is Ready for FIBAA International Accreditation

PGMI UIN Malang – On Friday, January 27, 2023, from 13:00 to 15:00, a coordination and initial preparation meeting was held in the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM) room on the 4th floor of the Rectorate Building. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the preparation for nine study programs that are affirmed to apply for international accreditation. The two national accreditation institutions involved are FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) and ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften und der Mathematik), both of which are based in Germany. The coordination meeting was chaired by the Head of LPM, Helmy Syaifuddin, with quality control overseen by Meinarni Susilowati and standard development headed by Ahmad Mubaligh.

The nine study programs being prepared for international accreditation are Arabic Language Education, Islamic Education Management, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education, Sharia Management and Banking (FIBAA), as well as Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (ASIIN). With the PGMI program selected for international accreditation, PGMI is striving to prepare itself to the fullest. One of the initial steps is to review the existing curriculum in the PGMI profile. This is supported by the statement from the Head of LPM, stating that “Learning from the experience of the eight study programs we registered last year, we must first organize the curriculum, ensuring that each study program does not have different curriculum structures.”

In line with the guidance from LPM, the PGMI program has planned several stages, starting with an independent curriculum evaluation. Relevant external experts will be invited to review the curriculum, and the finalization will be conducted by the same expert speakers. It is hoped that the PGMI program will achieve the prediction of Excellent Accreditation and gain international recognition. The support of the entire academic community at FITK, especially the PGMI program, is crucial for this endeavor.
