PGMI UIN Malang Holds “Harmoni 2023”

PGMI UIN Malang – Harmoni is a cultural event that combines music and dance arts. This activity is a mandatory event held in the fourth semester as a requirement for passing the SENDRATARI course (drama and dance) and music arts course. The participants of this event are fourth-semester students, while the organizing committee consists of second-semester students. The theme chosen for this year’s Harmoni event is based on folklore, focusing on kingdom and cultural themes.

The Harmoni event will take place on Thursday, June 22, 2023, starting from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. The event will be held for one day only, beginning with the formal opening by the MC, followed by the main program hosted by a non-formal MC. The main program will include performances by small dance groups, small music groups, campus collaborations, large group performances, guest star performances, assessment and announcement of winners, and a closing ceremony.

The performances showcased at the Harmoni 2023 event will be divided into three categories. First is the small dance group category, featuring cultural-themed group dance performances. The second category is the small music group, where music performances will combine modern and traditional musical instruments in a collaborative manner. Lastly, the large group performance category will feature a fusion of music, dance, and drama, presenting folklore and ancient kingdom stories.

Harmoni 2023 is not only attended by PGMI UIN Malang students but also embraces other campuses in Malang, especially the PGMI program, to collaborate and participate in this Harmoni event. The purpose of this collaboration is not only to get to know each other but also to strengthen the bond of friendship among PGMI institutions in Malang area. The collaboration aims to showcase the excellence of each campus’ dance art and serve as an evaluation and reference for further improvement. This collaboration includes three campuses: Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA), STAI Al-Hikam, and UNIRA. Each campus is given the opportunity to present dance performances, with a minimum of one performance each campus
