PGMI UIN Malang –
On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, PGMI program conducted a coordination meeting via Zoom to monitor the progress of final-year students’ thesis projects. The coordination was specifically aimed at students in their 12th semester and above. This initiative was taken by the PGMI program to ensure that students complete their final projects or theses within the specified timeframe set by their respective mentors.
The list of students from the 2016 batch comprises 16 individuals, and it has become a matter of concern for the program to help these students finish their studies in this semester, the second semester of the academic year 2022-2023, which is supposed to be their final semester. If they fail to complete their studies within the stipulated time, they may face academic dismissal or discontinuation as students due to failure to meet the university’s deadlines. Thankfully, the coordination meeting saw enthusiastic participation from the 2016 batch, which can serve as motivation for them to finish their studies within the given time.
Moderated by the Secretary of the Program, Maryam Faizah, M.Pd.I, the two-hour-long meeting resulted in several key points: (1) Students found assistance through the coordination meeting as they could collectively address various guidance-related issues, each unique to every student; (2) The students appreciated the provision of guidance sessions, as many of them face time constraints, and the program arranged dedicated time for their guidance; (3) Each student was required to present their individual progress.
This proactive monitoring of students’ thesis progress has been a successful annual event, significantly contributing to the timely completion of their final projects. With this initiative, it is expected that all students will successfully complete their theses by the end of the second semester of the academic year 2022-2023.
